Who doesn’t love surprises? The TRP list which provides the top 10 TV shows is also full of surprises and this time, it gets all the more interesting.

Just the mere announcement of Disha Vakani aka Dayaben’s comeback on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has brought the show on top of the chart. SpotboyE.com was the first to break the story that the actress who’s been one of the most loved and popular characters of the show is finally returning after a long hiatus.

We can say that the makers’ efforts to bring Dayaben back have bore fruit. Since a long time, they had been negotiating with Disha Vakani and finally, the actress relented. To sweeten the deal, they even offered to provide the actress with an on-set nursery for her baby. We even brought you glimpse of her comeback scene that she shot at Ambe Mata Mandir in Borivali. The actress’ first scene post comeback was shown recently and we think, her return has boosted the TRPs heavily.

The show which has been running on TV screens for more than a decade has been in the top 10 list many times, but now with it gaining the top spot, it’s quite clear that Dayaben ka magic chal gaya!

Now, let’s talk about the misses as usual. Two most popular and controversial reality shows, Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye 9 stay out of the list again. Bigg Boss 13 contestants’ antics inside the house aren’t helping grab enough eyeballs. Be it Siddhartha Dey and Arti Singh’s fight or his fights with Shehnaaz Gill, kuch majja nahi aa raha viewers ko. Paras Chhabra’s ‘rehab’ statement for Sidharth Shukla or even his verbal spats hasn’t helped the show enter the top 10 list. Quite surprising na! Probably, some interested wild card entries could help!

Next, speaking of Nach Baliye 9, the show is headed towards finale and we see no signs of it entering the list. Prince-Yuvika’s shocking exit announcement or the fight of choreographers hasn’t brought the show in the list. It seems like both Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye 9 will have to burn the midnight oil to enter the TRP list.

Jo cheez yeh 2 shows nahin kar paaye, woh Indian Idol Season 11 ne kar dikhaya. The singing reality show which is into its 11th season now, has entered the list and is placed on number 5.

The show was in the news when a male contestant forcibly kissed judge Neha Kakkar during an episode. While the lady and co-judge Vishal Dadlani were aghast, the show became talk of the town. Even Neha’s emotional breakdown on quite a few occasions has been spoken of. It seems like the audience prefers singing with a mix of drama over dance and nok jhok.

Another surprise entry is by the Star Plus show Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka which also kick-started this month. The serial marks an entry in the list on number 9. While, we revealed about Taarak gaining the top spot, are you wondering what happened to Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya? The 2 shows are usually sitting in the top slots, but this time, Kundali Bhagya is on 2nd position whereas Kumkum Bhagya is on number 7.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is on number 3 and Big B’s game show Kaun Banega Crorepati is on 4th spot. Choti Sardani has slipped down from 3 to 6 this time. And finally, the last position is occupied by Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki which marks a re-entry on the chart after a long while.
